P\u00e2n\u0103 la domnia lui \u015etefan cel Mare, podurile erau denumite \u201evad\u201d sau \u201epunte, podi\u015fc\u0103, pode\u0163, podule\u0163, podi\u015for\u201d. Podurile erau mai mult provizorii. Erau construite pe \u201ecapre\u201c puse pe ape, pe pari b\u0103tu\u0163i \u00een albii. Construc\u0163ia podurilor permanente din piatr\u0103 au ap\u0103rut abia pe vremea lui \u015etefan ce Mare.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u201eConform tradi\u0163iei, \u015etefan cel Mare a f\u0103cut un pod de piatr\u0103 la Ia\u015fi \u00abde laturea t\u00e2rgului\u00bb, peste p\u00e2raiele C\u0103rjoaia \u015fi Zlodica la Boto\u015fani, unul peste Ba\u015f\u0103u \u015fi dou\u0103 \u00een \u0163inutul Bac\u0103ului, la Borze\u015fti \u015fi la Bogdana, peste p\u00e2r\u00e2ul \u201eValea R\u0103\u201d. Alexandru Odobescu scrie c\u0103 \u015fi celebrul logof\u0103t T\u0103utu ridicase \u00abun pod solid\u00bb \u00een jude\u0163ul Dorohoi, Despre podul de peste apa C\u00e2rjoaiei a\ufb02\u0103m o relatare din 1832, c\u00e2nd se impunea \u00abnecesitatea de a se lua m\u0103suri de reparare&#8230; pe c\u00e2t s\u2013ar p\u0103rea mai aproape de adev\u0103ratul \ufb01in\u0163ei lui \u015fi f\u0103r\u0103 c\u00e2t de pu\u0163in\u0103 abatere\u00bb. \u00centr\u2013un dosar din 1845, se men\u0163iona \u00abo cercetare la fa\u0163a locului, care constat\u0103 c\u0103 vechiul pod era \u00een lungime de 42 de metri, \ufb01ind construit din piatr\u0103 cioplit\u0103, cu patru bol\u0163i\u00bb\u201c, men\u0163ioneaz\u0103 istoricul Eugen \u015eendrea \u00een volumul \u201ePe urmele lui \u015etefan cel Mare\u201c. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Podul de la G\u00e2rbovana <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Singurul pod din timpul lui \u015etefan cel Mare care se mai p\u0103streaz\u0103 ste cel de la G\u00e2rbovana, comuna \u015etefan cel Mare. \u201eLegenda spune ca ar \ufb01 costat \u00abun kertic domnesc de 2.000 oca de sare\u00bb. De\u2013a lungul timpului, numero\u015fi cercet\u0103tori s-au \u00eentrebat dac\u0103 acesta este \u00eentr-adev\u0103r podul ridicat de ne\u00eenfricatul domn. S. P. Radian, \u00een documentata lucrare \u00abJude\u0163ul Bac\u0103u, studiu agricol \u015fi economic\u00bb, ap\u0103rut\u0103 \u00een 1889, scria c\u0103 \u00een dreapta Trotu\u015fului \u00abse a\ufb02\u0103 renumitul pod al G\u00e2rbovanului presupus a \ufb01 f\u0103cut de \u015etefan cel Mare\u00bb. Ortensia Racovi\u0163\u0103 aminte\u015fte \u015fi ea \u00een lucrarea \u00abDic\u0163ionar geogra\ufb01c al jude\u0163ului Bac\u0103u\u00bb, ap\u0103rut\u0103 \u00een 1895, \u00abpodul G\u00e2rbovanului, zis \u015fi podul lui \u015etefan cel Mare, al c\u0103ii jude\u0163ului Adjud\u2013One\u015fti\u2013Tg. Ocna. Legenda spune c\u0103 podul acesta ar \ufb01 f\u0103cut de \u015etefan cel Mare. Stric\u00e2ndu\u2013se cu vremea, el a fost restaurat de Mihai Grigore Sturza, domnul Moldovei (aprilie 1834\u2013iunie 1849)\u00bb.\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Podul de la Borze\u015fti<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Un alt pod atribuit lui \u015etefan cel Mare este cel din localitatea Borze\u015fti, care a rezistat sute de ani, dar, \u00een timp, s-a degradat \u015fi nu a mai fost restaurat. \u201eIstoricul C.C. Giurescu spune c\u0103 \u00abun pod de piatr\u0103, zidit, este cel de la Borze\u015fti, pe care tradi\u0163ia \u00eel atribuie \u2013 credem, cu dreptate &#8211; lui \u015etefan cel Mare\u00bb. Cercet\u0103torii Gheorghe Ungureanu, Gheorghe Anghel \u015fi Constantin Botez \u00eei acord\u0103 toat\u0103 aten\u0163ia podului de la G\u00e2rbovana. Dar cel care a studiat mai mult acest pod a fost dr. C. I. Istrate. El ar\u0103ta c\u0103 atunci c\u00e2nd s\u2013a construit \u00een 1873 \u015foseaua Adjud\u2013One\u015fti, s\u2013au g\u0103sit \u00abun pod boltit cu piatr\u0103 construit de \u015etefan cel Mare. \u015ei p\u0103r\u0103ului i se zice p\u0103r\u0103ul lui \u015etefan cel Mare. Transform\u0103ri sau ad\u0103ugiri au avut loc \u00een timpul domniei lui Mihai Sturza (1843\u20131849), \u00een 1873, dar cea mai ampl\u0103 \u00eentre anii 1902\u20131903, c\u00e2nd s-au \u00een\u0103l\u0163at dou\u0103 diguri laterale de protec\u0163ie, unite cu un palier \u00een sc\u0103ri format din bolovani de c\u00e2te 800 kg \ufb01ecare\u00bb\u00bb. La aceast\u0103 dat\u0103, podul are o lungime de 14 metri, l\u0103\u0163imea de 8, \u00een\u0103l\u0163imea luat\u0103 de la picior de 11 metri, iar deschiderea bol\u0163ii de 5,80 metri.
