Construirea lui durase nici 5 ani. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/adevarul.ro\/assets\/adevarul.ro\/MRImage\/2021\/09\/14\/614057105163ec427136824f\/646x404.jpg?w=800&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Momentul istoric de la Dun\u0103re. Inaugurarea Podului de la Cernavod\u0103, la 14 septembrie 1895\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Arhivele Na\u0163ionale ale Rom\u00e2niei public\u0103 o serie de documente care celebreaz\u0103 momentul important de la 14 septembrie 1895, de la inaugurarea podului de la Cernavod\u0103. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201eDup\u0103 ce Dobrogea a fost alipit\u0103 Rom\u00e2niei prin prevederile Tratatului de la Berlin (1878), construirea unui pod care s\u0103 lege noua provincie de restul \u0163\u0103rii a devenit o necesitate, astfel c\u0103, la 21 octombrie 1890 a fost pus\u0103 \u201epiatra fundamental\u0103 a podului menit s\u0103 \u00eempreuneze cele dou\u0103 maluri ale Dun\u0103rii \u00eentre Fete\u015fti \u015fi Cernavod\u0103\u201c. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cinci ani mai t\u00e2rziu, la 14 septembrie 1895, \u00een prezen\u0163a unei numeroase asisten\u0163e, Regele Carol I inaugura la Cernavod\u0103 cel mai lung pod din Europa (4408 m), un proiect ambi\u0163ios, coordonat de inginerul Anghel Saligny. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00cen construc\u0163ie, inginerul folosise pentru prima dat\u0103 un sistem de grinzi cu console pentru structur\u0103 \u015fi o\u0163el moale la tabliere, tehnic\u0103 inovativ\u0103 ce a conferit durabilitate proiectului, la o sut\u0103 de ani de la inaugurare, podul de cale ferat\u0103 de la Cernavod\u0103 fiind \u00eenc\u0103 func\u0163ional. \u00cen timpul ceremoniei de inaugurare, Regele Carol I a b\u0103tut cel din urm\u0103 cui, dup\u0103 cum m\u0103rturise\u015fte \u00een documentul ce \u00eenso\u0163e\u015fte acest eveniment: \u201emul\u0163umit\u0103 r\u00e2vnei \u015fi m\u0103iestriei inginerilor rom\u00e2ni, am trecut pe deasupra valurilor celor dou\u0103 bra\u0163e ale Dun\u0103rei m\u0103re\u0163e \u015fi am b\u0103tut cel din urm\u0103 cuiu, care a \u00eencheiat \u015fi sf\u00e2r\u015fit aceste falnice lucr\u0103ri\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Momentul culminant al zilei a fost testarea rezisten\u0163ei podului cu un convoi de 15 locomotive grele. Convins de calitatea construc\u0163iei sale, Saligny s-a urcat \u00eempreun\u0103 cu c\u00e2\u0163iva muncitori \u00eentr-o \u015falup\u0103 pe care a ancorat-o sub pod, garant\u00e2nd cu propria via\u0163\u0103 calitatea proiectului s\u0103u, reac\u0163ia sa atunci c\u00e2nd convoiul de locomotive a ajuns cu bine pe cel\u0103lalt mal al Dun\u0103rii fiind \u201e\u015etiam c\u0103 va \u0163ine!\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Un exemplar al actului de inaugurare a fost pus \u00een zid\u0103ria piciorului de pe \u0163\u0103rmul st\u00e2ng, cel de-al doilea urm\u00e2nd s\u0103 se p\u0103streze \u00een Arhivele Statului.
